How to achieve your goals

Reflect, Reset, and Rise: Your Step-by-Step Guide to Achieving Your 2025 Goals with Ease

December 31, 20243 min read

As the year comes to a close, many of us find ourselves looking back on the goals we set in January. Maybe you hit some of them—or maybe you’re left wondering what happened to all that initial excitement and motivation. I’ve been there. In fact, for years, I stopped setting goals altogether because I couldn’t handle the disappointment of ‘failing’ yet again.

But something shifted for me this year.

Suddenly, the way I approached goal-setting changed, and it made all the difference. I want to share that shift with you today because if I can find a way to set and reach my goals—without the burnout, guilt, and self-doubt—then you can, too.

Why We Lose Steam on Our Goals

It often starts with unrealistic expectations. We plan big, but we don’t check in with how we’re really feeling about the process. We ignore mindset blocks and old stories like “It’s too hard” or “I’m not disciplined enough.” These stories weigh us down, and by December, we feel like we’ve failed.

The Game-Changing Question

So what sparked my transformation? A simple question: How do I feel right now?

  • Uncovering your beliefs: When I gave myself the space to answer honestly, I discovered negative beliefs driving my behavior.

  • Shifting your mindset: Once I recognized those beliefs, I started replacing them with empowering ones.

Creating a Vision for 2025

I asked myself: What needs to happen in 2025 for it to be the best year of my life?

  • Dream Big: Let yourself imagine what you truly want.

  • Write It Down: Grab a notebook and jot down your visions—don’t hold back.

  • Break It Down: Determine what you can accomplish in the next 90 days to get closer to that dream.

Turning Vision into Action

Here’s what helped me turn those visions into tangible goals:

  1. Identify Your Helpers: Seek out people or tools that can support you—mentors, speakers, apps, or communities.

  2. Delegate & Let Go: Find three tasks you can delegate and three habits you need to drop. (For me, that meant less social media scrolling and no more comparing myself to others.)

  3. Choose a Guiding Word: Pick one word that sums up your intention for the year. Mine was ease—a reminder that success can flow without constant struggle.

Progress Over Perfection

I didn’t hit every single milestone, and that’s okay. The real win was becoming the kind of person who could keep moving forward with confidence and clarity, no matter what. The mindset shift was the biggest result of all.
